Born and raised in Cardiff, Gethin’s career started with a small stint in television working for Sky, the BBC and Channel 4 after University. Shortly after, Gethin went to work for Legal & Generals pensions department. This was his first taste of employee benefits. Gethin stayed with L&G, working his way up through management until moving to London where he worked for Barclays in Canary Wharf, helping organisations like GSK, Nestle and Coca Cola, improve their employee benefit offerings.
After working with a few start-ups and setting up a benefits team for one of the UKs largest insurance brokers, Gethin started in Benefex. Initially establishing a partner network for them, Gethin soon went on to land Benefex some the industry’s most impressive partners including Barclays, EY, PwC, Willis Towers Watson, SAP and more, which helped to expand Benefex to more than 50 countries.
During his time at Benefex, Gethin gained significant experience in using technology to improve the employee experience, becoming a regular name at employee experience and engagement events.
Nowadays, Gethin is a frequent commentator and speaker, (and has been featured in The Financial Times and The Guardian), as well as a judge at numerous Employee Experience and Customer Experience Awards. In November 2017, Gethin released his first book ‘A World of Good: Lessons From Around the World in Improving the Employee Experience’ which became an Amazon HR bestseller soon after.
Still a part of the senior leadership team at Benefex, Gethin is now leading a team to find ways that technology can solve some of HR’s wellbeing issues.
